Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Steps:
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and kidney beans.
- Add the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and cayenne pepper. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
- Cover and cook for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasonings if needed before serving.
